IPC Alpine Skiing European Cup - Solleftea, Sweden (31 Jan - 3 Feb 08)

Wins for Willoughby - Three 1st Places and a 2nd

Whilst Sean Rose headed off to Canada for further training with fellow team mate Tim Farr, Joe Willoughby continued her successful run in Europe with a trip to the Solleftea races in Sweden.

Flying the flag for GB she produced some cracking results winning the first technical slalom race some 2 seconds ahead of her Swiss rival Anita Fuhrer only for roles to be reversed in the second days slalom races with Fuhrer pipping Willoughby to the post by just 1.4 seconds.

Not to be deterred her performance in the following two days Giant Slalom delivered on her committed training schedule this season with two wins.

Willoughby, together with the rest of the squad (currently attending the British Services International Ski Championships in Meribel) will join Rose, Miller and Farr in Canada later this month for a GB attack on a selection of NorAm races and a visit to the Vancouver 2010 alpine host resort of Whistler.
