The final races of the GB disabled alpine squad season took place in La Molina this week. A couple of familiar faces were in attendance to get a final boost to those points in anticipation of getting a head start in the rankings next season including Joe Willoughby, chasing to be the leading European ranking woman in her category; Talan Skeels-Piggins fresh from great results in Canada and newcomer Steven Hutchinson.
The races included Super G on the Thursday followed by Giant Slalom Friday finishing with the Slalom on Saturday.
Day 1 - Willoughby builds on her Canadian success back in Europe with silver...
Thursday's Super G day saw Willougbhy putting in a determined performance to claim 2nd in the first of the SG races. Unfortunately, the poor race conditions led her to crash out of the second race.
Head Coach, Jane Stevens was impressed with all the athletes' performance.
"a very tough two races, with steep, icy, snowing and no visability conditions...if you take a look at the DNF it will give you an indication of how tough it was - good training!"
Talan Skeels-Piggins secured a very respectable 16th and 10th whilst new development member Steve Hutchinson (Hutch) came through in the male standing category to take his first finishes in both races at 21st
Day 2 - A cracking second run gives Willoughby her second Silver of the competition... 
Joe Willoughby continued to added to her impressive 2007/08 medal hall with a further silver in the technical Giant Slalom event on Friday bringing further well earned points to put her in contention for best European women sit ski points winner this season. Hutch again produced a consistent race, finishing 22nd in the mens category. Unfortunately, Skeel-Piggins suffering from previous days exursions, DNS.
Day 3 - Development newcomer Steven Hutchinson comes through in difficult conditions...
With both Willoughby and Skeels-Piggins recording DNF's on a course which took numerous other racers out of contention it was left to Hutch to get through his two runs in the slalom to finish a very respectable 14th and earn some well deserved IPCAS race and World Cup points.
