Pre season Training Camp - Hintertux, Austria (5-18 Nov 06)

Week1
BAST kicked off 06/07 with pre season training in Hintertux, Austria. Held in a new venue for the team, athletes setttled into Tux well and all agreed it was much better suited to the Teams needs. The week was well attended and all skiers eager to get back on the snow. Conditions constantly changed throughout the week from white out conditions, sunshine, fresh snow, windy but always pretty icy! Perfect opportunity for the Team to hone their ice skiing techniques. The whole week was spent skiing GS, with plenty of gate trng and drills. The week focused on balance, co-ordination, vision and being smooth. It was a Great week to get into it and have some fun. On this weeks results and progression, next weeks trng looks set to rock. A big thankyou to our buddies, coaches and Redpoint Travel. Well done.!

Week2
After two days much needed rest and a successful team talk on the progression of the team we were joined by three potential new members Craig a three tracker and two sit skiers Jane and James. On Monday we were held back by wind, bad visibility and general bad weather so were stuck on the bottom kid’s slope. With weather improving by Tuesday and joined by the army we moved on to a more challenging steeper and icier pitch for everybody’s favourite event slalom for the next two days. While the newbie’s were put through their paces lower down the glacier. On the final day it was back over to the old piste for some timed GS runs where the competitive spirit in everyone came out and challenges set, unfortunately 2 members did not join the rest of the team due to fear of coming last! lol
Overall a great two weeks and the whole team would like to thank RedPoint for their help throughout the two weeks and welcome the new members to the Squad.
